I am loving the pace of COETAIL 2. I finally got my courses organized this week, but have yet to post my collaborative blog post. But that’s okay! I’m still working on accepting my own pace.

So last week we were given the opportunity to work with our cohort to question, wonder and decide what we thought personal learning was. We used Canva and Slack to collaborate and came up with the following slides.

It was helpful for everyone to put their ideas down and have us ask each other questions if we felt anything should be adapted. My thinking throughout this process switched my mindset from being the teacher to being the learner. Which in reality, everyone plays both roles right? We are all (students included) teachers and learners.

The ISTE Standards I have chosen to focus on during COETAIL 2 are:

Educators continually improve their practice by learning from and with others and exploring proven and promising practices that leverage technology to improve student learning.

Educators seek out opportunities for leadership to support student empowerment and success and to improve teaching and learning. Educators:

Educators dedicate time to collaborate with both colleagues and students to improve practice, discover and share resources and ideas, and solve problems.

Educators design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability.

Educators facilitate learning with technology to support student achievement of the ISTE Standards for Students.

My learning goals: Take notes. Be inspired. Try new things. Don’t be afraid to fail.

I am currently working on using these standards to dive deeper in organizing my goals for the next 23 weeks. I’ll be back tomorrow with My Learning Path.
